Ahead of the holiday season, Boston-based World Against Toys Causing Harm shared its annual list of nominees for “10 Worst Toys of 2016,” including a baby doll that plays peek-a-boo, a “slimeball slinger” and a Flying Heroes Superman launcher.
According to the group, in the past two years 19 toys have been recalled for safety defects in the United States.
“Although parents have a right to expect that toys they give to their children are safe, unsafe toys remain an ongoing problem,” writes the group in a press release. “Due to poor design, manufacturing and marketing practices, there are toys available for purchase today with the potential to lead to serious injury and even death.”
